Poetry: butterfly effect.

 butterfly effect.
​
waiting for the blow 
I wince and hold on
aware of what could be lost
I could go elsewhere,
probably find replacement parts,
make a machine that runs smoothly, gets the job done efficiently 
only
it would lack the characteristic sounds
of uncertainty and desperation 
apocalyptic hope
that sours sweetness just enough 
Clanking out oddly lovely rhythms
generating 
the need to tell you again and again how it feels 
Because 
I wager it is like no other 
exactly like every single truth ever spoken 

Your voice should ring out and sing
your wings craft a beat 
your gift be given to this sound 
I think you don’t really know
how much this is your calling 
how can I convince you that it is time to shed your chrysalis 
circle and flutter 
your flight changes everything
